✔ Used to treat Premature Ejaculation

✔ Effective in 8 out of 10 men

✔ Most effective 1-3 hours after being taken

What is Priligy and how does it work?

Priligy contains the active ingredient Dapoxetine which is a short-acting Selective Serotonin Reuptake Inhibitor (SSRI) that has been specifically developed for the treatment of Premature Ejaculation.

Ejaculation is strongly linked to the amount of serotonin in specific regions of the brain. Priligy works by preventing the body from reabsorbing serotonin in these areas, thus boosting levels. This effect delays the ejaculatory reaction in most men, meaning that it takes longer to reach orgasm.

Priligy is the first oral medication to be licensed in the UK for the treatment of Premature Ejaculation. Clinical studies indicate that it is effective in approximately 80% of men and that it can triple the length of time that it takes to ejaculate.

Additional Information

How should I take Priligy?

Priligy is available from PrescriptionPad as 30mg and 60mg tablets.

Before taking Priligy, you should read the manufacturer’s printed Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) from inside the pack. It will give you more information about the tablets and provide you with a full list of the side effects which you may experience from taking them.

The recommended starting dose for all patients is 30mg. This can be increased to 60mg if the response to 30mg is insufficient, and the patient has not experienced any adverse reactions or symptoms suggestive of fainting, such as dizziness or light-headedness.

It is important to note that if the 30mg dose is effective, increasing to 60mg is unlikely to further extend ejaculation time and may increase the risk of side effects.

Priligy starts to work quickly and should be taken 1-3 hours before sexual activity is anticipated. The tablets have a bitter taste and should be swallowed whole with a full glass of water, without chewing. Priligy can be taken with or without food. Grapefruit juice should be avoided 24 hours prior to taking Priligy, as it can increase the concentration of Priligy in the bloodstream and raise the likelihood of side effects. Alcohol is also best avoided when taking Priligy as the sedative effects may be enhanced.

Priligy is not a cure for Premature Ejaculation and is not intended for continuous daily use, it should be taken as needed only when sexual activity is anticipated. Priligy must not be taken more frequently than once every 24 hours.

Priligy is only licensed in men between the ages of 18 and 64 who have experienced Premature Ejaculation for at least six months. It should not be taken by individuals with heart disease, blood clotting issues, a tendency to faint, or in those who take certain medicines. This is because more serious side effects can occur.

If you accidently take more Priligy than prescribed, you may feel or be sick and experience an increase in side effects and their severity. Contact your doctor if you take more tablets than you should.

Along with their useful effects, most medicines can cause unwanted side effects although not everyone experiences them. The unwanted effects often improve as your body adjusts to the new medicine, but please speak with your doctor or pharmacist if they continue or become troublesome.

Below is a list of the most common and the most serious side effects associated with Priligy. You will find a full list of possible side effects in the Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) supplied with your medicine.
