Used to safely and effectively treat excess Female Facial Hair

Contains the active ingredient Eflornithine

Clinically proven to slow the growth of hair

Visible improvement within 8 weeks

Equally effective on all skin types and shades

What is Vaniqa Cream and how does it work?

Vaniqa Cream contains the active ingredient Eflornithine, which when applied to the skin irreversibly inhibits an enzyme (ornithine decarboxylase) involved in the production of the hair shaft by the hair follicle. Blockade of this enzyme slows the growth of hair as well as making it shorter, finer, lighter, and ultimately less visible.

Vaniqa Cream is applied to areas of the face where there is excessive hair growth. It is equally effective in all skin types and shades.

Additional Information

How should I use Vaniqa Cream?

Before using Vaniqa Cream, you should read the manufacturer’s printed Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) from inside the pack. It will give you more information about the cream and provide you with a full list of the side effects which you may experience from using it.

Vaniqa Cream should be applied thinly to the affected area(s) of the face and/or under the chin twice daily, at least eight hours apart. The efficacy of Vaniqa has only been demonstrated for use on these areas. It is untested and not likely to work on other parts of the body.

Clean and dry the areas of the skin where you will be using the cream. Apply a thin layer of cream and rub it in thoroughly until no visual residual product remains on the treated areas. If possible, do not wash these areas of skin for four hours after applying the cream. Wash your hands thoroughly after applying the cream.

Improvement in your condition may be noticed within eight weeks of starting treatment but can take longer in some cases. Continued treatment may result in further improvement and is necessary to maintain beneficial effects. Use of Vaniqa should be discontinued if no beneficial effects are noticed within four months of commencing therapy. Vaniqa should be used regularly, your condition may return to pre-treatment levels within eight weeks following discontinuation of treatment.

When using on the face, avoid contact with your eyes or the inside of your nose or mouth. If you should accidentally get Vaniqa into your eyes, mouth or nose, rinse well with water.

If you experience irritation (e.g. stinging, burning), you should reduce the use of Vaniqa to once daily until the irritation has gone. If it persists, contact your doctor.

It may sting or burn if you put this cream on cut or irritated skin. If you have just shaved or used any other hair removal method, wait at least five minutes before using Vaniqa. It is also recommended that you wait at least five minutes after using Vaniqa before using make-up or sunscreen on the same areas.

Vaniqa Cream should not be used in men, pregnant or breastfeeding women, or any females younger than 18.

Vaniqa is not a depilatory cream and can be used alongside other treatments such as hormone tablets or other forms of hair removal such as plucking, waxing, threading, or laser hair removal.

Along with their useful effects, most medicines can cause unwanted side effects although not everyone experiences them. The unwanted effects often improve as your body adjusts to the new medicine, but please speak with your doctor or pharmacist if they continue or become troublesome. You will find a full list of possible side effects in the Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) supplied with your medicine.

Side effects are usually limited to the skin and tend to be mild in intensity. In such cases, they normally resolve without discontinuation of Vaniqa.

I am amazed by the results that I seen when using this product. I had a rash for more than 4 weeks, I asked Prescription Pad what they would recommend and it started to clear within 3 days of using this product. Thank you so much!
