Treats or prevents Migraines

Rapid action

CGRP inhibitor

Dissolves on or under the tongue

What is Vydura and how does it work?

Vydura contains the active ingredient Rimegepant, which works by inhibiting the activity of a protein in the brain called Calcitonin Gene-Related Peptide (CGRP). Rimegepant binds to CGRP receptor sites, blocking the protein’s action. Since CGRP is believed to play a key role in the severe pain associated with Migraine attacks, reducing its activity can help alleviate an active Migraine and, when taken preventively, can also reduce the frequency of future attacks.

Additional Information

How should I take Vydura?

Before taking Vydura, you should read the manufacturer’s printed Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) from inside the pack. It will give you more information about Vydura and provide you with a full list of the side effects which you may experience from taking it.

For treatment of a Migraine attack once it has started, the recommended dose is 75mg (one oral lyophilisate) as needed, not more than once daily.

For prevention of Migraine in patients who have at least 4 Migraine attacks per month, the recommended dose is 75mg (one oral lyophilisate) every other day.

The tablet is orodispersible, which means it will dissolve in the mouth without the need to drink water. Take care to handle the tablet as little as possible and make sure your hands are dry. Peel back the foil on the blister, do not try to push the tablet through the foil. Place the tablet on, or under, your tongue and allow it to dissolve. It is not important whether you take your dose before or after food.

Along with their useful effects, most medicines can cause unwanted side effects although not everyone experiences them. The unwanted effects often improve as your body adjusts to the new medicine, but please speak with your doctor or pharmacist if they continue or become troublesome. You will find a full list of possible side effects in the Patient Information Leaflet (PIL) supplied with your medicine.

Stop taking Vydura and seek medical help immediately if you experience signs of an allergic reaction, such as: severe rash, swelling of eyelids/face/lips, wheezing, shortness of breath.

A common side effect (may affect up to 1 in 10 people) is nausea.

Please tell the prescriber if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines, including medicines obtained without a prescription. This is because Vydura can affect the way some medicines work, and some medicines can have an effect on Vydura. In the event of a medical emergency, you should tell your doctor, pharmacist, or nurse that you have taken Vydura and when you did. Do not take Vydura with other medicines unless your doctor tells you that you can.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any of the following medicines:

  • Itraconazole and Clarithromycin (medicines used to treat fungal or bacterial infections)
  • Ritonavir and Efavirenz (medicines to treat HIV infections)
  • Bosentan (a medicine used to treat high blood pressure)

  • Ciclosporin (a medicine used to prevent organ rejection after an organ transplant)

Do not take Vydura:

  • If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to Rimegepant or any of the ingredients listed in the Patient Information Leaflet supplied with your medication. Signs of a hypersensitivity reaction include swelling of the face and mouth (angioedema), breathing problems, chest pain, runny nose, skin rash, or any other allergic type reaction

I am amazed by the results that I seen when using this product. I had a rash for more than 4 weeks, I asked Prescription Pad what they would recommend and it started to clear within 3 days of using this product. Thank you so much!
